It all started in a café in Los Angeles in 2012. Tired of overpriced wigs that didn't blend in with her 4C curls, Jasmine confided her woes to her friend Evan, a quiet entrepreneur from a small town known for making some of the best human hair in the world.

Evan knew there had to be a better way.

They were selling the world's best virgin hair to American wholesalers and brands at a reasonable price, but they were reselling it for 10 times the price of virgin hair, which was out of reach for the women they wanted to serve, and infuriating to Jasmine because it would make it very difficult for the vast majority of African American women to own their high-quality wigs.

So, in 2018, Lashey was born, a brand for black women, by people who truly understood their hair. Lashey wasn’t just about creating hair extensions —it was about creating a solution. A solution that embraces real-textured, naturally mixed hair that works in harmony with every curl, coil, and wave. And, most importantly, a solution that doesn’t involve any middleman.
